FAQs
WHAT IS THIS CONVENING?
Clean Buildings Healthy Communities was developed through a coalition of environmental justice, community-based, and environmental organizations. The effort was established around a shared goal that by 2050, everyone in the United States will live, work, learn, and gather in healthy, affordable, and safe buildings that are free of fossil fuels. This will be achieved by advancing policies and community-driven solutions at the local, state, and federal levels that prioritize and channel resources to the communities that need them most.
It envisions a national movement to decarbonize US buildings by ensuring we support healthy and affordable homes, reduce climate and air pollution, and equitably transition away from gas in buildings. This convening is a work space to collaborate, think through strategies, and share ideas to make a national effort equitable, community-centric, feasible, tangible, and successful.
This convening is fully in-person with no hybrid option.
Is this a conference?
Not exactly. While there are sessions like conferences, this 3-day convening is a space to not only learn, but also discuss what is and isn’t working today, make new connections to strengthen coordination and collaboration, and envision how a coordinated effort can best be created to serve communities through equitable decarbonization. There will be interactive activities, discussion sessions, panels, brainstorms, and much more!

CAN I GET FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR MY TRAVEL TO ATTEND?
Environmental justice, equity, and community-based organizations will have financial support to cover travel-related and lodging expenses. Those invitees and registrants received this information in their invitation to register. Financial support will be in the form of reimbursement after the convening, unless otherwise arranged. A form will be sent after the convening with the option for a check or ACH reimbursement.
All others were invited in the registration form to indicate if they may need financial support to attend. We will do our best to address financial needs and will communicate with registrants once we have greater clarity on budget availability. We want to prioritize financial support for environmental justice, equity, and community-based organization participation before we address additional needs.

We have limited capacity for this event and it is currently invitation only. If you are unable to attend and want to pass your invitation to another person in your organization, please contact us.
